Hello,

Your new players (both HTML and flash) don't preserve the aspect ratio of the original video when in full-screen mode, which is frustrating to say the least. Can this issue be addressed?

Thank you!

Hi Tracey,

Just a head's up - the aspect ratio problem is back again. (Both flash and HTML.)

certainly not true for most of our items and browser/OS combos -- it works in both html5 and flash modes for anamorphic sources as well as widescreen "square pixels" like all our h.264 "derivative" .mp4 and .ogv.

can you please paste a /details/ page link exhibiting the problem and kindly provide your browser/OS approximates?

thanks!

Hi Tracey,

The same behavior exists on two different machines with different graphics chipsets (Intel and AMD), and in three different browsers (Chrome, IE, and Firefox). Both are running Windows 8. The video clips I'm referencing are Computer Chronicles episodes with a 4:3 aspect ratio; in fullscreen mode they stretch to the 16:9 ratio of the monitor.

As you can see from the other reply, I'm not the only one experiencing this issue.

ah, didn't see the "fullscreen" specific part of it when first read, my bad.
i can reproduce, which means i can fix. i see the issue and can workaround it but have to sort out how to not screw anything up 8-)

stay tuned...

OK, this should be fixed now. (wow, that was a toughie bug to squoosh).

figured out pretty rapidly it was due to trying to workaround issue with flash version and "anamorphic" video (eg: the pixels aren't 1:1)
eg: http://archive.org/embed/anamorphic

but that was screwing up, as you both patiently pointed out, other videos in fullscreen that were square pixels when the video aspect ration and one's monitor aspect ratio weren't the same.

sorry about that! my bad for not catching/noticing that sooner.
thanks for your patience with me/us and for the bug reports!

(and please let me know if anything is still wrong from your point of view, etc.)

cheers!
